Background: The village of Kodialanida in rural Mali had children injured during a storm when their mudbrick classroom collapsed. A 3-classroom block not only assured the safety of their students, but opened up space for additional out-of-school children. A solar lighting system in one of the classrooms gave this off-the-grid village a place for community meetings, teacher preparation and student study in the evenings.
