Background: Mancourani B is part of school built in 1956, one of the biggest in Sikasso, Mali. The average class size is 90 students, with more girls than boys. Despite being an urban school, the community still gathered raw materials of sand, gravel, and foundation stones for the project and made the blocks on site. As a consequence, the price for a school built in coalition with Build A School In Africa averages less than $15/sq. ft.
