Atwima Koforidua is getting a classroom block!

At Atwima Koforidua Primary and Junior High School there are more than 2500 students. When the school was built in the 1960s, the government funded a 5 classroom block. Despite significant growth, the government hasn’t provided further support and the community has been left to build makeshift classrooms to accommodate the number of students. Currently, there are four different schools using these limited classrooms and each classroom has been subdivided by makeshift partitions to fit as many students as possible.

This community and the students are so excited to have new, safe classrooms to accommodate more students. You can feel their enthusiasm and commitment to this project. We look forward to seeing this project come together and hope you’ll follow along.
