Strong partnerships with the local community, their leader’s, and other charitable organizations that share a deep commitment to compassion, dignity, and sustainable impact are at the heart of what we do at Coafrica. Together, we are able to make limited resources go farther in addressing the barriers to education faced by rural African children. Today, we’d like to highlight our partnership with humanitarian arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (formerly known as LDS Charities).

For decades, The Church of Jesus Christ has been a global leader in humanitarian service, responding to urgent needs while investing in long-term solutions that help individuals and communities become more self-reliant. Their work spans emergency relief, clean water access, food security, education, healthcare, and community development across the world — including throughout Africa.

A Shared Vision for Lasting Impact

Our partnership is rooted in a shared belief that every person deserves access to opportunity and hope. Together, we focus on initiatives that go beyond short-term aid to create sustainable pathways forward — especially through education.

By supporting the construction of classrooms and learning environments, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps ensure that children have safe, dignified spaces where learning can thrive. Education is a powerful catalyst for change, and this investment strengthens not only individual futures, but entire communities for generations to come.

Together, we are not just building infrastructure — we are helping communities lay the foundation for resilience, economic growth, and opportunity.

Supporting Chitilila Primary School

In addition to Coafrica’s standard 4 classrooms and a teachers workroom. The Church of Jesus Christ if supporting the construction of 2 additional classrooms and teacher housing for 2 teachers. In an upcoming blog post we will address why providing teacher housing is an important element of equitable education access for rural African children.

Gratitude for Partnership

We are deeply grateful for the trust, generosity, and shared purpose of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their partnership strengthens our mission and expands what is possible for children and families across Africa.

Change happens when organizations come together with humility, vision, and a willingness to serve. We are honored to walk alongside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as we work toward a future where access to education and opportunity is not a privilege, but a promise.
