A Durable Classroom Block for Assagba Kope!
On December 20th, 2024, the grand opening ceremony took place at Assagba Kope. Parents, students, community members and leaders gathered to celebrate the first durable classroom block for the school. Since it’s founding in 2008, the school has been teaching in community build sheds because the government declined to provide them with classroom infrastructure.
The excitement was palpable as the community looked upon the finished building. It will make such a difference for their school and the students to have a stable place to learn.
The festivities included speeches by the school director, local leaders and students about the importance of education. The students displayed their gratitude and excitement through choreography and cultural displays for those in attendance.
After the speeches and performances, the ribbons were cut and the classrooms are officially open. Students will now begin learning in these beautiful classrooms. We look forward to witnessing the impact these classrooms have in the lives of these students and this community.
