Ribbon cutting ceremony with Senior Chief Khongoni, Principal Education Officer Yonamu, and Project Coordinator Goodwell Banda
Mtsindo Primary School is Now Open!
The official Handover Ceremony took place on February 22nd 2024. The community, students and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate and prepare for students to return to classes after the break. Senior Chief Khongoni of the local tribe and Mrs. Faida Yonamu, the principle education officer for the Lilongwe Rural West region participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony. Chieft Khongoni later emphasized to parents the importance of having every child in school. In fact, she informed parents that there will be a committee doing follow-up visits to make sure children are in school. We are grateful to local community leaders, like Chief Khongoni and Mrs. Yonamu, who partner with us to support education for these children. We can’t wait to follow-up with this community in the coming months to see how things are going!
