Project Scope: 4 Classrooms
Impacted Children: ~250
Timeline: October 2024 – December 2024
Community Involvement: Community members will clear the land, dig the foundation, carry water and sand, and provide maintenance and security of materials
Coalition: Build a Classroom Initiative in Africa
Background: Assagba Kope Primary School is a rural school located in the LACS prefecture of Togo. The school was created in 2008. The government wasn’t able to provide any facilities to start with so the community built a shed for the students to learn from. The lack of proper infrastructure discouraged parents from sending their children to school and there was an estimated 150 additional children not attending school. Now that the proper classrooms are complete, we hope to see more children attending school and improved learning outcomes for these students.
