Location: Ijofin, Nigeria
Project Scope: 4 Classrooms
Impacted Children: ~500
Timeline: June 2023 – October 2023
Community Involvement: Community members will provide manual labor, as well as maintenance and security of materials
Coalition: BASIA
Background: Igiri Secondary School is a rural school located near the border with Benin. Although the school was established in 1979, very little maintenance has been done over the years leaving the existing buildings in poor condition. A leaking roof, broken windows and cracked walls undermine the integrity of the structure. Our new classroom block provides a durable and conducive learning environment to the 500 currently enrolled students, and will hopefully entice out of school children to attend school.
