A New Classroom Block for Katalima!

The community, students, teachers, and distinguished guests, including Coafrica director Marci Romney, gathered to celebrate the grand opening on June 4th, 2024. The excitement in the air was contagious!

Distinguished guests including the provincial minister, the district education secretary (DEBS), and the local chiefs attended the ceremony. We even had members of the national press at the event (see media coverage below). After inspiring speeches from Rising Fountain Development Program director, Mathias Zimba, and Coafrica director, Marci Romney, the minister and DEBS committed to do their part in helping the school by providing desks and bathrooms. We look forward to seeing this school receive the additional resources they deserve to provide a conducive learning environment for their students!
