Because Igboedu Community Primary School is located on the edge of a nature reserve, our team in Nigeria has been presented with the unique challenge of transporting all construction materials to the project site with a large body of water in the way.
All the materials for the construction of Igboedu Primary School are either transported by sea or by land. When transported by land, materials are loaded onto a large truck and driven many miles to the construction site.
When materials are transported by sea, they are first transported by foot to a large boat, where the materials are shuttled across the nature reserve to the construction site.
The transportation challenge presented to us by Igboedu is one of the reasons we decided on this project! The need in the surrounding community is great, and we are excited to see the impact of the new classroom block! To learn more about the progress on Igboedu, click here.
