St. Peter’s Anglican Primary School

Location: Agoro-Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria

Project Scope: 6 classrooms

Impacted Children: 360 children

Timeline: September 2022 – January 2023

Community Involvement: Clean-up and Maintenance

Coalition: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Build a School Initiative in Africa

Background:  St. Peter’s Anglican School had to run on shifts since there are so few adequate classrooms.  They created dividers in several classrooms so that they can have 2 or 3 classes meet in one room at a time. The local king and community feel so strongly about supporting education, but don’t have the resources themselves to make the necessary improvements. Together with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Build a School Initiative in Africa, Coafrica has been able to build a 6 classroom block with a teacher workspace. We love seeing the joy and excitement of the students in their new classrooms with desks and school supplies provided by The Church of Jesus Christ. These classrooms will last a long time and impact this community for years to come.
