Background: Sungeni Primary School was initially build in 1954. It has been in operation for 71 years. The original school structures are falling apart and high student enrollment in this area has exceeded the capacity of the buildings, leaving classes meeting outside under the trees for shelter. The students and their community are so excited to have some proper classrooms so they can attend school even during the rainy season. We hope these new classrooms will provide a safe and durable learning environment for students and entice out-of-school children to start attending school.
